Opens Sep 3 2025 02:00 PM (MST)
Deadline Oct 31 2025 05:00 PM (MST)
$100,000.00
Description

Since 2002, the Flinn Foundation has commissioned Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap, the longest-running, statewide bioscience strategic plan in the nation. The Roadmap was first updated in 2014 and is now on its third iteration as of September 2025.

The Translational Seed Grants Program helps the state reach the goals of the Bioscience Roadmap by funding research projects that focus on creating new products and services to benefit human health and well-being.

The Program will fund up to 10 Arizona-based research teams affiliated with one or more of Arizona’s academic research institutions and/or health-care systems. Projects should have goals related to improving disease/illness prevention, detection, and treatment - impacting patients here in Arizona and across the globe.

By the end of the 18-month grant period, supported teams would be expected to have significantly de-risked their product/process, refined their design and acquired key validation data taking account of updated stakeholder feedback. Critically, the teams should have also secured or have a well-defined plan to secure new sources of funding to carry their project forward and be well on their way to commercializing their product/process.
